Art Quilts With a Practical Twist
The concept is innovative and blends practicality with creative expression.
Quilters can express their creativity, experimenting with different fabrics and techniques from traditional country to cutting edge art quilting. The outcome is still something useful and practical for the home.
Beautiful Gifts
In a mass produced world, hand crafted items are increasingly valued as gifts. A soft clock is a wonderful way to share your creativity with loved ones. And Soft Clox are quick to make and easy to display without taking up much space.
The Ideal Workshop
It’s tricky to find a quilting project that meets the needs of a one or two day workshop. A quilted clock hits the mark on many points:
• Can be completely finished in a one or two day workshop – no UFO’s
• A great small project to experiment with different quilting techniques
• Can be funky or traditional just by varying colour and fabrics
• Something different to give quilters a new experience
• The finished result is easy to transport.

I was born in South Africa and trained as a graphic designer in Johannesburg where I worked for several years. In the late eighties I moved to London and enjoyed several years working in advertising and design in that wonderful city. A few years later I met a marvellous Australian in Zanzibar and fell in love. We settled in his home town of Perth where we married and started a family which now includes two girls and a boy, ranging in age from five to ten.
In 2000 my husband’s career took us to a small town in central Queensland and I left advertising and design behind. I became a full time home mum and dabbled with lampwork beading as I searched for a creative outlet. We now live in Maleny, a beautiful town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland north of Brisbane where I live, design and teach.
Introduced to quilting at a craft workshop, I felt an immediate connection and knew I’d found the creative expression I’d been seeking. It was love at first stitch and I was soon learning the various techniques and began designing my own quilts. Combining my design skills and love of colour quilting has become my passion.
I have designed many of the quilts I’ve made and recently developed the Soft Clox concept.
